DESCRIPTION:
Simparica Trio Chewable Tablets for Dogs are used to prevent Dirofilaria immitis-related heartworm disease in dogs. It also treats and controls roundworms, adult hookworms, and ticks, kills adult fleas, and prevents and treats flea infestations.
Key Benefits: Simparica Trio contains:
- Sarolaner, an insecticide and acaricide that blocks glutamate-gated and GABA chloride channels in the acarine and insect nervous system. This causes increased stimulation of the nerves, then parasite death.
- Selamectin works to paralyze and/or kill a broad range of parasites (invertebrates) by interfering with the conductance of their chloride channels.
- This disrupts normal transmission, inhibiting nerve cell electrical activity of nematodes and muscle cells of arthropods. This causes paralysis and/or death of the parasite.
- Pyrantel Pamoate, a tetrahydropyrimidine nematocide that depolarized and blocks the neuromuscular transmission of susceptible parasites, leading to paralysis and death or elimination.
- Moxidectin, a macrocyclic lactone endectocide that interferes with the parasite’s chloride channel-mediated neurotransmission, causing paralysis and parasite death.
Formulated For: For dogs and puppies 8 weeks or older and weigh 2.8 lbs or more.
